Typology Retinol Serum Reviews

Typology Fine Lines & Wrinkle Serum 0.3% Retinol
People around me consider me a workaholic but I'd rather refer to myself as someone who's in love with their job. This infatuation with work has caused me a lot of trouble over the years and I'd go through serious mental breakdowns when the slightest thing about work goes wrong. I have a weak heart and this much stress I go through is not suitable and I even had a heart attack once, but I still managed to survive. The only thing bothering me is the deepening wrinkles I seem to notice with each passing day. I've never been able to neither ignore them nor fix them. They'd just deepen and make me more and more self-conscious.

Typology Retinol Serum ReviewsTypology Fine Lines & Wrinkle Serum 0.3% Retinol

I was never a fan of skincare and beauty cares and when I wanted to get rid of the wrinkles around my eyes and on my forehead, I was lost! I didn't even know what my skin needed in order to smoothen, so I started trying out everything. First, I tried some vitamin C serums and didn't get much out of it except the fact that my skin's texture was improved, but after a while I started trying anti-aging products. Among all of them, Typology's fine lines & wrinkle serum 0.3% retinol was the only one that had a noticeable effect on my overall looks.

Even after years of using Typology's fine lines & wrinkle serum 0.3% retinol and being satisfied, I always subconsciously wonder what it is about this anti-aging serum that granted my wish and to find out we'll have to look at the ingredients which are ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, glycine soya (soybean) oil, retinol.

The Benefits of Vitamin C for Skin

Looking through the ingredients list, you'll notice three active ingredients which are retinol in this case 0.3%, soy oil and castor oil. Let's talk about them a little bit more.

Retinol is a kind of retinoid which are a form of vitamin A. Due to the fact that retinol increases collagen production, it can be very effective in thickening the skin which is beneficial as thinning skin is a natural process of aging. It's used to treat acne and soften fine lines as well as fixing hyperpigmentation. Retinol is a strong antioxidant and can protect your skin against free radicals. It increases the blood flow to the skin which in return encourages the production of collagen. It also boosts the production of Hyaluronic acid and other natural chemicals in the skin making skin look plump and keeping it moisturized.

Next we have soy oil, a versatile vegetable oil extracted from soybean plant seeds. Based on a study on six people, it has been proven that soybean oil can act as a barrier and keep moisture in the skin. In another study, soybean has been proven to contain anti-inflammatory properties and is a great protection against UV free radicals. It is also high in vitamin E, another anti-inflammatory substance, that can treat some skin conditions like dermatitis and acnes.

Lastly, there's castor oil, a vegetable oil extracted from the ricinus communis plant. It has antioxidant properties that protect your skin against free radicals in your skin which are responsible for speeding up the aging process. Castor oil is also antibacterial which can come in handy when dealing with skin infections such as acne. There's also other benefits to it such as helping you get rid of your puffiness and so much more.

Made my face break out. Badly. I have used retinol in the past, but this natural brand was not in agreement with my skin.

This product is NOT a serum, it's water in a bottle. You can't even apply because the product runs right through your fingers. I am returning immediately.

  • Isabel Diaz

Although I know it takes time to see a product working, after two weeks, my skin is a disaster. I have so many new blemishes and on a daily basis. I finally stopped using the product and the daily new blemishes have seemed to cease This may have worked well for others not for me. Two thumbs down.

Hi! I love this product...I have been using it for about 8 months and do see the difference as I am in my early 50's and fine lines are appearing. The smell is fresh and citrusy. I have had no skin irritation. I am a fan and will continue to use it. Great Product!
